Mark William Butler
Mark William Butler has had over thirty of his plays, musicals and revues produced in NYC, including "Ugly Christmas Sweater, The Musical", which was selected for the New York Musical Festival, the New York New Works Theatre Festival, and the TRU Voices New Musicals Reading Series. Speaking of sweaters, his one-act horror movie parody musical, "Bad Christmas Sweater", won Best Play honors at The Players Theatre Short Play Festival. Another holiday musical, "The Kris Kringle Christmas Special", had its NYC debut in 2022. Other Christmas work includes "Vote for Santa" and "Santa Claus Quits Christmas, Moves to NYC, and Starts a Podcast" (one-acts). He also has a jukebox full of Christmas songs. Mark has also written the award-winning one-acts "The Laundry War" and "The Nickname Fairy", as well as the musicals "The Pizza Punk from Outer Space", "Imaginary Us", and "Nicky 9-Lives". His work has been chosen for many festivals, mainly in NYC. He is also a published short story writer, poet and journalist, as well as a non-profit event producer. Mark is a member of The Dramatists Guild and ASCAP.
